How exactly does VaultGremlin block my social media accounts?
VaultGremlin works by temporarily taking control of your account credentials. We provide you with a unique email address that becomes your new account email. Once you change your account email to ours, any "Forgot Password" attempts go to our email instead of yours - making it impossible to reset your way back in. We then generate a completely new password (we don't need your old one) that only we know. Your account stays completely active and visible to others, but you cannot log in from any device until your blocking period ends.
What platforms does VaultGremlin support?
We currently offer a direct setup for Instagram. We also support custom blocking for any platform that can associate only an email address with the account (like TikTok, X/Twitter, Snapchat, etc.)—just tell us what you need locked.
How much does VaultGremlin cost?
VaultGremlin offers a 7-day free trial, then $3.99/month for unlimited locks. You can block your accounts, test the service, and see if it works for you. No payment required during the trial. If you cancel before the 7 days are up, you won't be charged anything. We want to keep it affordable so we can have maximum impact helping people break free from social media addiction.
How long can I lock my accounts for?
You can set a lock for as short as 6 days or as long as 6 months. The choice is yours—just know that once it's set, there's no turning back.
What happens to my account email during blocking?
We give you a unique email address that's exclusively yours. During setup, all emails are forwarded to your personal email so you can complete verification. Once blocking begins, we disable forwarding and hold all emails (including password reset attempts) until your block ends. Since your account email is now one we control, any "Forgot Password" attempts go to our email system instead of yours - making it impossible to reset your way back in.
How do I get my account back when the blocking period ends?
When your timer expires, our system automatically restores your access. We change your password back to one you can use and send it to your personal email. We also reactivate email forwarding so you receive platform communications again. You regain complete control with all your followers, content, and settings exactly as you left them.
How does password security work?
We don't need your current password at all. We use the "Forgot Password" function with your new VaultGremlin email to generate a completely new password. All new computer-generated passwords are stored in encrypted vaults with time-based access controls. Nobody—not even you—can access it until the timer expires. We never ask for or store your original passwords.
Will my followers and content be affected during blocking?
Not at all. Your account remains completely active and visible to others. People can still find you, follow you, see your posts, and interact with your content. The only thing that changes is that you cannot log in. From the outside, your account appears normal—you're just locked out of accessing it.
How does emergency access work?
Each user has five lifetime emergency unlocks. Contact [email protected] with the subject line "Emergency Access Request" if you truly need early access, and we'll use one of your emergency unlocks to return your credentials. But once you've used them up, there are no more—so you can't treat "emergencies" as excuses.
What happens if I lose access to my VaultGremlin account?
If you can't log in to VaultGremlin itself, we have a secure recovery process for your VaultGremlin account. But your blocked social media stays locked until the timer you set expires—we never override your lock.
How do I set up VaultGremlin with my accounts?
You'll be guided step by step: first, switching your account email to one generated by VaultGremlin, then confirming the code sent to that inbox, and finally letting the Gremlin reset your password. Once it's done, your account is sealed until your chosen time.
What if a platform changes their login system?
If a platform updates its login process, the Gremlin adapts. We'll guide you through any new steps to make sure the lock still holds.
Can I modify my return schedule once it's set?
No. Once the locks are changed, the Gremlin holds the keys until the timer expires. You can't shorten it, extend it, or negotiate—this is what makes it work. You'll only regain access when your chosen timer expires—or by contacting support for one of your five lifetime emergency unlocks (for genuine emergencies only).
Is my data safe with VaultGremlin?
Yes. All credentials are encrypted and inaccessible to anyone, until your timer expires. We don't share or sell user data—your trust is our foundation.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time. However, if you cancel your subscription while you have an active blocking session, you must contact us at [email protected] to request credential release. We will get back to you within 3-4 business days with your account credentials. This prevents immediate access after cancellation and maintains the integrity of your blocking commitment. Can I use VaultGremlin for business accounts?
We strongly recommend against using VaultGremlin for business or work accounts. The service is designed for personal social media addiction and could interfere with professional responsibilities.
